Job Description: The HVAC Design Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, and development of HVAC systems for various projects. This role requires a deep understanding of HVAC principles, strong technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and project teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Software Proficiency:
    • Utilize HVAC software tools such as HAP for load calculations, duct sizing, and equipment selection for chillers, AHUs, fans, FCUs, etc.
  2. HVAC System Design:
    • Design HVAC systems for various projects including industrial, tech parks, commercial, and retail stores, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Develop detailed HVAC design plans, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork, and piping layouts.
  3. Site Assessments:
    • Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather necessary information for accurate design and planning.
  4. Technical Drawings and Specifications:
    • Create and review technical drawings and specifications using CAD software.
    • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate HVAC systems into overall building design.
  5. Design Proposals and Documentation:
    • Prepare and present design proposals, technical reports, and documentation for client approval.
    • Provide comprehensive and precise specifications, technical data, and accessory details for all HVAC products to the procurement team, ensuring they have all the necessary information for accurate and efficient purchasing decisions.
  6. Installation and Commissioning:
    • Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  7. Energy Analysis and Efficiency:
    • Perform energy analysis and recommend energy-efficient solutions to optimize system performance.
  8. Technical Support and Guidance:
    • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Industry Trends and Best Practices:
    • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in HVAC design engineering.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, TRACE).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and principles.
  • Experience with energy modeling and sustainable design practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
