MEP Design Engineer (4-5 years of experience)
Job Description:
As an MEP Design Engineer at Envigaurd, you will be responsible for designing and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for various construction projects. With your expertise and experience, you will contribute to the successful implementation of MEP designs, ensuring functionality, efficiency, and compliance with relevant codes and standards. You will collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders to deliver high-quality MEP solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design Development:
- Develop comprehensive MEP design concepts, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, considering project requirements and client specifications.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, load estimates, and equipment selection for MEP systems.
- Utilize design software and tools to create 2D and 3D models, schematics, and construction drawings.
Coordination and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other design professionals to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with the overall building design.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to obtain necessary information and materials for MEP installations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and provide technical guidance and expertise to resolve design conflicts or issues.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure MEP designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct thorough quality checks and reviews of design documents to maintain accuracy and completeness.
- Perform site visits and inspections to verify the implementation of MEP designs and address any on-site challenges or modifications.
Project Management:
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates for MEP design and installation.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the project team to identify and implement design improvements and value engineering solutions.
People Management and Mentorship:
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior engineers and drafters.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with team members, ensuring efficient workflow and successful project delivery.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements, technologies, and trends in MEP systems design and implementation.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 4-5 years of experience in MEP design and coordination for building construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
